Day 3: Age of Science
(CHECK OUT THE FREE GUIDE AT THE BOTTOM)
Age of Science is one of the most important long-term days in Alliance Duel. Buildings can be replaced and troops retrained, but Tech Center choices shape the account you will have weeks and months from now.
That is why Day 3 is not a simple speedup-spending event. Use research, Valor Badges, and science resources to improve your personal score while building permanent strength. Done well, Age of Science earns chests today and makes future Alliance Duel weeks easier.
The live event screen is always the final authority. Scoring can differ by server progression, seasons, and event formats, so check what qualifies before using speedups, Valor Badges, or science items.

Research Should Serve a Long-Term Plan
Every project has a cost: Gold, Food, Iron, Oil where applicable, time, speedups, prerequisites, and a place in a larger technology path. The best choice is not always the longest timer or largest visible power increase.
A useful project may improve your primary troop type, strengthen a core squad, unlock a requirement, increase efficiency, or prepare you for a seasonal system.
Will it help your main squad, unlock an important prerequisite, remove a bottleneck, or support the content you play most? If yes, Day 3 is a great time to complete it. If not, it may score points without being the best use of resources.

Prepare Research Before Wednesday
The best Age of Science scores are prepared before the event begins. Review the Tech Center on Tuesday, choose a useful project, and estimate its timer. If possible, start it so it finishes after Day 3 opens; otherwise, reserve the speedups needed to finish it during the event.
This prevents panic spending and confirms the project is affordable. Players often save speedups but not the Gold needed to begin the next technology.
Before Day 3, save enough for the project you plan to finish and, ideally, the one after it. An active Tech Center is usually worth more than one dramatic completion followed by a long delay.

Technology Power Is Not the Same as Good Research
Technology Power can contribute to VS scoring, but it does not prove a research project is a good investment. A long project may create plenty of power while doing little for your current account. A shorter one may unlock a vital troop improvement, development requirement, or branch that supports everything after it.
Look beyond the power number. Read the description, review its prerequisites, and consider whether it benefits the troop type or account system you rely on.
The best Age of Science score comes from research you would be happy to complete even without the event. VS points should be the bonus—not the only reason.

Understand Alliance Duel Research Clearly
Alliance Duel research is a specialized Tech Center tree, not general research. General technologies improve development, economy, units, combat, and other account features. Alliance Duel research specifically improves Alliance Duel performance and rewards.
Valor Badges are the currency used to complete Alliance Duel technologies; they are not the upgrade itself. Those technologies may increase points from certain VS activities or unlock more personal reward chests.
The benefit compounds: bonuses make chests easier to reach, chests can provide Valor Badges, and badges strengthen future Alliance Duel technology. For regular participants, this is an excellent long-term investment.
Choose Alliance Duel Branches With Purpose
The Alliance Duel tree may have branches for construction, research, hero development, troop training, combat activity, or additional reward chests. Do not select one simply because it is next.
Choose based on how you normally score. A strong research-day account may benefit most from an Age of Science bonus. A player who excels on Day 5 may prioritize Total Mobilization. If you already reach normal chest targets, chest-unlock technology may matter more.
The right branch depends on the account. Alliance Duel research should make your usual activity more efficient, so invest in the way you actually play.

Valor Badges Should Not Be Spent Randomly
Valor Badges are limited and become more valuable as you understand the Alliance Duel tree. Before spending, confirm that Badge spending qualifies on Day 3. Then review the technology, its cost, and what it unlocks next.
Avoid scattering badges across unrelated branches for immediate points. That can delay the upgrades with the greatest long-term value.
A planned Badge investment may provide Day 3 points now while improving your ability to score and earn rewards later. That is exactly the kind of resource use Alliance Duel is designed to reward.
Research Speedups Should Be Used Carefully
Research speedups are specialized resources. Their best job is completing useful technology at the right time. Use research-specific speedups before Universal Speedups whenever possible; universals can also support construction, training, healing, and future emergencies.
Before speeding up, use available alliance help. If you have a temporary research-speed bonus or relevant buff, activate it before a major push.
Do not spend speedups because a timer is annoying. Spend when the research is useful, the event window is right, the milestone matters, or the alliance needs a controlled push. A speedup that finishes meaningful research is an investment; one used without a plan is simply gone.
Keep Your Research Queue Moving
An efficient Day 3 is not always one massive completion. Sometimes the strongest use of research resources is completing one useful technology, immediately starting the next one, and keeping the Tech Center active. A player who plans this sequence can create steady progress instead of a single spike followed by hours or days of inactivity.
After completing your first research, check what is next. Do you have the resources? Are prerequisites ready? Does the next technology make sense for your account? Will it be useful to stage for a future event?
A research queue that remains active creates progress every day, even when you are not pushing VS. The best players use Day 3 to improve their current account and position the next upgrade at the same time.

Use Arms Race to Increase the Return
Age of Science becomes more efficient when research overlaps with Tech Research in Arms Race. During the matching phase, completions and qualifying speedups may progress both events, turning one planned push into several reward layers.
Before completing a major project, check the Arms Race timer. If Tech Research is approaching and Day 3 has time left, wait; if that would miss the VS window, complete it during Alliance Duel.
Alliance Duel remains the priority; Arms Race overlap is an added advantage when timing allows. The goal is not endless delay, but making planned progress worth more.
Do Not Run Out of Gold
Gold is often the hidden bottleneck on research day. A player may save speedups all week, then discover advanced technologies cost more Gold than expected. After the first completion, there may be nothing left to begin the next project.
Before Day 3, review the costs of technologies you are considering. Save resource chests when possible so they remain protected for planned projects rather than opening them at the first shortage.
Gold used for meaningful research is an excellent investment. Gold spent randomly because the event is active can leave you unable to fund the technology you actually need. Plan resources as carefully as speedups.

Decide When You Have Scored Enough
Age of Science can encourage continued spending because research always feels useful, but useful does not always mean urgent. Once you reach your planned reward target, pause and evaluate.
Is the next chest close enough to justify the cost? Does the alliance need a push? Is the next project part of your plan? Are you still using research speedups, or are you starting to consume Universal Speedups?
Continue when the upgrade is useful, the alliance result can change, or the reward has real value. Stop when the next score requires wasteful spending, the opponent’s lead is unreachable, or you need resources for Train Heroes and Total Mobilization. A good Day 3 score leaves you stronger, not depleted.

Prepare for Train Heroes
Hero Day comes next. Hold Hero EXP, Hero Shards, Skill Medals, recruitment tickets, and qualifying Exclusive Weapon materials for Train Heroes. Decide which squad and heroes are priorities before Thursday.
Each completed day makes the next easier to prepare for.
Final Thoughts
Age of Science is not about using every research speedup you own. It is about choosing technologies that strengthen your account and completing them when they create the most value.
Research with purpose. Keep the Tech Center active. Protect Gold. Use Valor Badges on Alliance Duel branches that serve your account, take Arms Race overlap when timing works, and stop before useful spending becomes unnecessary.
The best research makes every future week easier.
RESEARCH WITH PURPOSE. INVEST FOR THE FUTURE. LET EVERY UPGRADE STRENGTH THE PATH AHEAD.
